Secondhand Sureshots is a filmed experiment in creative sound recycling. Dublab directors Bryan “Morpho” Younce & Mark “frosty” McNeill sent beatmakers Daedelus, Nobody, J.Rocc and Ras G on safari into L.A. thrift stores with orders to make new music out of five finds while the cameras filmed the whole process. The result is a mini-documentary about putting new life into old vinyl. Over 2 hours of footage, music & bonus material.

Chi Recordings revine in forta in 2008, Huncut Hacuka, al saisprezecelea release al casei, fiind sub zodia tech-house si este semnat de Fine Cut Bodies. Originalul este insotit de doua remixuri pe masura semnate de doi producatori de cea mai buna calitate: Audio Soul Project si Kodek. Primul remix se situeaza in zona dancefloor tech-house, iar cel de-al doilea este un remix tech curat si in forta. Pentru cei care isi doresc propriul remix, releaseul vine insotit si de un sample pack.

In acelasi film cuYear Zero (Nine Inch Nails), doua piese de pe albumul lui Saul Williams – The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust (care pe langa ca suna bine e in regim platesti cat vrei) produs de Trent Reznor au fost lansate in format multi-track pentru producatori si mash-up artists.
In magazinele de retail muzical puteti gasi 2 dintre cele mai anticipate remixuri dubstep. Shackleton si Peverelist preiau temele berlinezului Pole si isi impun discursul high finesse plin de estetica sub/dub care implica atat clickiness din scoala minimala cat si retorica dub inecata de reverb si bassline.
Dupa ping pong-ul de bun augur intre Shackleton si Villalobos, suntem curiosi de evolutia acestui sub-sub-subgen din care mai fac parte Appleblim, 2569, Martyn si yours truly.
